What women say

AC was living in a shared Missing Link House having moved there from hospital in September 2006.

She was under 25 years old and presented with a bipolar disorder and depression.

She disagreed with the bipolar diagnosis but considered herself disabled; receiving disability allowance and she thought that she would remain on these benefits for life. Over the period of a year, the TREE team worked with her and on assessment she wanted to do various courses from Teaching English as a foreign language in Japan to a Beauty course, to psychiatric nursing in the RAF to Photography.

Each time we focused on the progression to these careers; her motivation and suitability to the work that she would need to do to attain the skills required.

AC focused on the photography course and started to create a portfolio of her work. She sketched out ideas ,working with her creative side and each new work was put into her portfolio.
She applied for a course in London and was accepted for the September 2007.

She is thoroughly enjoying the course, her mental health issues are in the past as she is involved and happy in her new life. She has exhibited in London and Paris!
