Permanent Accommodation in Flats
Self-contained Flats

Our Floating Support Scheme provides Resettlement support to each woman for up to 3 years in self-contained flats in secure tenancies. The level of support which is both practical and emotional is high at the beginning. It then gradually tails off until the tenant is able to manage without additional support. The scheme is aimed at women with long term mental health support needs and who may not be able to manage a tenancy without help.

The level and kind of support will depend on the needs of the tenant and can include:

  • regular review of mental health needs
  • liaison with other agencies
  • setting up a package of care and support
  • application to Social Fund Grant to buy furniture
  • buying furniture and equipment
  • advice on budgeting, paying rent and bills
  • information on and introduction to local resources, clubs and social activities
  • information on employment, training and voluntary work
  • on-going practical and emotional support
